Household jobs, shared simply — a small app for keeping family chores visible, fairly divided, and actually done.
The idea
Every household runs an invisible job queue — and usually one person carries it in their head. JobJar makes the queue visible: jobs go in the jar, everyone can see them, and they get shared out simply.
Why build it
The best product experiments come from problems you live with. JobJar is deliberately small: no gamification, no streaks, no notifications begging for attention — just a shared, honest list of what needs doing. Small tools that respect their users are a design statement of their own.
Under the hood
Next.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL, installable as a PWA. What started as a flat task list has grown with real use: jobs can now be promoted into proper projects with milestones and materials when they outgrow a single line item, and fold back into a normal job the moment they don't need that structure — the app follows how the work actually changes shape, rather than forcing everything into one model.
