The idea
Every household's money moves through the same handful of things — bills, income, accounts, transfers — but rarely lives in one place anyone can actually check. Tally brings all of it into a single household ledger and reconciles it against real bank statements, so a number on screen always has a real record behind it.
The build
Editorial, light-mode, and unapologetically calm for a finance app — no
dashboards trying to look busy. A real explainer page at /about (hero,
feature callouts, an actual screenshot of the app) sits in front of the
invite-only sign-in, so anyone who lands on the site — not just an invited
household member — understands what it is before being asked to sign in.
Why it matters
Built for one household's real finances, not as a general SaaS product — invite-only, no open signup, no advertising. The constraint that shaped it most: every figure needs a trail back to a real bill, transfer or bank statement line, not a number someone typed in and forgot to check.
